About The Artist

Born on December 25th, 1980. She was delivered to her mother in a giant red stocking. As an only child growing up she spent a lot of time with her Grandmother Delores. She remembers spending afternoons in the sunroom watching Bob Ross on TV and painting by numbers.  She grew up and graduated high school from Monticello, MN in 1999. She went on to college at The Art Institute International in downtown Minneapolis.  This is where her love for painting and art history was sparked. In December of 2001 she graduated with an associate’s degree in multimedia and web design. 

Merry wants people to Feel Something when they view art. Not enough people pay attention to how they feel these days. The use of specific colors and textures decides what the outcome of the painting will be.  Everything starts as an idea and then comes to life.  She never sketches things out first but just lets things evolve layer after layer. Over the years her style has varied some but her emotions are always a part of each individual piece.  Branching out into Abstract Impressionism Landscapes and Mixed Media shadow boxes now Merry hopes to expand her artistic horizons.
